    Ethics in Cryptocurrency

    EthicsCentre CA in partnership with Ted Rogers Leadership Centre organized a breakfast seminar to discuss the following topics:
    • Blockchain basics including what is a blockchain and what is cryptocurrency?
    • Regulatory concerns in the Canadian context including money laundering, securities fraud, criminality (Quadriga), data storage and security, and the technical limitations of blockchains and cryptocurrency
    • Ethical Design, that is, the broader implications of how blockchains might be used in the future, and how regulators and technologists may respond to ethical concerns. Included in this discussion will be a case study (Facebook’s Libra Coin) and International ethical standards
