Mentored by a Book
About this event
The Canadian House of Commons proclaimed February 22 as Human Trafficking Awareness Day to help bring awareness to the magnitude of modern-day slavery in Canada and abroad and encourage Canadians to take steps to combat human trafficking. Whether this is your first time learning about trafficking, or whether you’re very familiar with the subject, this is an invitation to spend time to be informed and understand the very real existence of Human Trafficking crime in Canada. Timea Nagy’s book, “Out of the Shadows” helps create awareness of this horrific crime. Timea Nagy’s story is heart breaking, horrific, as well as inspiring. Let’s join in being mentored by her memoir, in which she shares her experience and a deeper insight into the world of Human Trafficking. My hope is that though her words, we will have a ripple effect in raising public awareness on a crime that affects the most vulnerable members of society. This is an invitation to spend an hour on a February evening, for a thought provoking discussion; and to be mentored by the words of Time Nagy’s book.
A full read of the book before the event is recommended, but not essential. Join in and be mentored by a book. This is a Foreign Professionals Mentorship Association event.
