Sanctions & Cuba – Still just a US Problem?
About This Webinar
Under the Obama Administration there was a significant easing of US sanctions on Cuba. However, during the Trump era most of these restrictions were reversed. Following President Biden’s election, many commentators had envisioned that the Biden administration would roll back Cuba sanctions to a more Obama based era of restrictions, but the landscape has shifted in Cuba. A change in regime has brought heightened concern around human rights violations and a destabilising political environment in the country means it might now be time for the rest of the world to take a firmer stance against the country. This insightful webinar with a panel of industry experts will discuss:
- Will the EU and UK start to take a different approach?
- What does it mean for the US 50% rule and beneficial ownership and control?
- What are the potential implications for non-US entities, now and in the immediate future?
- What should you be doing now to prepare yourself and your business for future potential sanctions developments in this area?
