The Beirut Connection: The Dark Money Files Live Online
On 4 August 2020, a warehouse full of ammonium nitrate in the port of the city of Beirut, Lebanon, exploded, causing at least 207 deaths, 7,500 injuries, and $15 billion in property damage. An estimated 300,000 people in the city were rendered homeless.
The story attracted world media attention last year, but has faded from view since. Our investigations have revealed the figures and corporate entities whose activities led directly to the Warehouse 12 blast and the resultant financial and human misery. The affair connects UK shell companies, terrorist organisations, sanctioned individuals and money laundering networks. This is not widely known.
This is the latest in a series of free live online events but you don’t need to have attended any others to find this one useful – and hopefully entertaining. The event will include a presentation, followed by a Q&A session in which Graham and Ray will address questions raised by the audience.
