The role

The Fraud Specialist will play an important role in supporting various internal teams such as Compliance, Engineering, Product Operations and Customer Support to execute a detailed analysis of Fraud and Risk data sets, whilst keeping the customer in mind at all times. This role requires an intermediate to advanced understanding of existing and emerging fraud risks and trends. This involves inspecting transactions, activity, gameplay, and due diligence on verifying end users. You will be involved in collating background information, analyzing data to develop and deliver quality risk analysis on customer behaviour to protect our ecosystem, and ensure growth for the greater good.

  • Analyze diverse data sets and collaborate with finance, internal teams and stakeholders (Banks, payment processors, etc.) to recommend solutions
  • Preparation and review of daily reports relating to investigating suspicious user activity
  • Assist with regulatory submissions, including providing suggestions relating submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs)
  • Establish relevant policies and procedures to ensure a fraud-free environment within the platform
  • Identify new methods for fraud detection and prevention; working with executive management, engineering and product teams to implement recommendations
  • Use a variety of advanced tools, systems and reports to detect fraud trends
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers for enhanced investigations or resolutions linked to end user issues
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints in relation to payment or risk matters.
  • Communicate with customers, request KYC authentication and verification if and when necessary

What you will bring to the team

  • Experience in an analytical or compliance related role involving fraud detection and risk reviews
  • Interest and knowledge in the FinTech industry, and it’s regulations or similar
  • Experience within gaming and/or gambling B2C product or related industry (i.e. banking, trading, payments, Forex, crypto, adult entertainment, loans, online gambling, online gaming or esports in payments and fraud or related)
  • Have previous experience in customer risk assessments, EDD, AML rules and regulations, chargebacks, and responsible gambling
  • Experience with with help desk software, support tickets, and payment processors is ideal
  • Excellent communication, organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills


Our office is located in Toronto. The ideal candidate will also be located in Toronto. However, we will consider remote applicants +/- 3 hours from eastern time zone. We work where we get our best work done. Be it in our Toronto office, 100% remote or a hybrid of both.
