Where We Need You:

The Toronto Risk & Compliance practice is seeking a Senior Manager to join our growing team.

What You Can Expect:

Senior Managers partner with our clients to solve complex business problems and provide best in class advice and solutions.  Senior Managers have a solid understanding of their client’s business and demonstrate technical competence in their solution and industry.  Senior Managers can clearly articulate the value drivers of our business, and are responsible for developing opportunities both at existing clients and new clients.  Senior Managers are responsible for job economics and for seamless project management.  Senior Managers are developing future contacts within the business community and serve as ambassadors of Protiviti in the market.

Do Your Talents Include the Following?

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of work performed, procedures, observations and recommendations.
  • A appreciation of the Canadian regulatory framework for capital markets, banking and/or insurance products and services, including Privacy, AML, economic sanctions, and CASL  
  • Awareness of compliance supervisory methodologies and frameworks, key compliance reporting and disclosure obligations, and governance best practices is a definite asset
  • Consulting experience with financial services/banking institutions preferred.
  • A understanding of regulatory compliance objectives and processes in the Financial Services Industry (e.g., Banking, Insurance, Asset Management, Investment Funds, Broker-Dealer, etc.), including ability to design and execution compliance reviews and audits would be an asset
  • Experience in selecting and implementing regulatory technology preferred
  • A high-level understanding of business processes in Financial Services would be an asset.  For example:
    • security, derivative and commodity trading,
    • investment fund accounting and valuation,
    •  underwriting of debt and insurance products,
    • investment management activities,
    • Know Your Client and Know Your Product and sales practices, and
    • distribution practices.
  • Supervisory experience of personnel and consultants.
  • Advanced project management and status reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to network and build relationships for business development purposes.
  • Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple engagements and work streams with various clients.

Your Educational and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in relevant academic area or equivalent relevant work experience 
  • 8+ years working experience with financial institutions in the risk and compliance area, at least 3 of which were in a consulting capacity
  • Experience in the development and execution of compliance programs, reviews and audits,  including reporting results thereof.
  • Experience in the writing and maintaining of policies and procedures and risk assessments preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio.
  • Professional Certification such as CAMS, CCEP, CRCM or similar an asset.
